About Us

Edingley Lodge Care Home is a residential care home in Newark, Nottinghamshire. We support older people and younger adults who need help with everyday life, and we offer respite stays for people who need care for a shorter period, whether that is while a family carer takes a break or because someone wants to try life here before making a longer decision.

We try to run this as a house where people live rather than a place where care is administered. Residents tell us when they prefer to get up, what they like to eat, how much help they want with washing and dressing and how they want to spend the day, and the day is built from those answers rather than from a rota that suits us. Support with personal care, meals, medication and appointments is given quietly and with proper regard for privacy.

Independence is protected wherever it exists. If someone can manage part of a task themselves, we leave them to it and stay nearby rather than taking over for the sake of speed. Company matters as much as practical help, and we pay attention to residents who would otherwise spend the day alone in their room.

Families are welcome whenever they want to visit and we would far rather hear a concern early. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
