About Us
We are Woodland Park Care Home in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, a residential care home supporting older people alongside younger adults whose needs mean living independently is no longer workable. We support people living with dementia, people living with mental ill health and people with a physical disability, and our starting point in every case is the person rather than the diagnosis.
This is somebody's home, so people bring their own belongings, keep their own routines and have a genuine say in how the day goes. Help with washing, dressing, medication and moving about is offered at the individual's pace and as discreetly as possible. For people living with dementia we pay close attention to familiar objects, familiar faces and a steady rhythm to the day, and we take time to learn a person's history so that reassurance comes from something real rather than from a script.
We also provide respite stays. A planned short stay gives a family carer a proper break, and it can help someone regain confidence after illness before returning home. We prepare for those stays properly so that nobody arrives to a room full of strangers.
Families and friends are welcome here and we would much rather hear about a worry early than find out about it late. We are straightforward about what we can offer and what we cannot. If you are looking at care homes in the Mansfield area, please come and visit us, meet the team and ask whatever you need to ask.
