About Us

We at Derbyshire House Residential Care offer a warm and welcoming home in Loughborough, providing residential care for older people and adults living with physical disabilities. Nestled within the East Midlands and easily reachable from across Nottinghamshire and the wider LE postcode area, our home is a place where comfort, dignity and companionship come together in everyday life.

Our setting has been thoughtfully arranged to feel like a true home rather than an institution. Familiar surroundings, comfortable communal spaces and quiet corners allow residents to relax, socialise or simply enjoy a moment of peace. Loughborough itself brings the benefit of local amenities close at hand, meaning family and friends can visit with ease and residents can continue to feel connected to the community they know and love.

At the heart of what we do is a genuine commitment to person centred living. For our older residents, this means unhurried support with the routines of daily life, delivered with kindness and respect. For those with physical disabilities, we focus on enabling independence wherever possible, adapting our approach so that every individual can live as fully as they choose. We also offer respite care, providing a trusted option for families who need short term support, whether following a hospital stay, during a holiday, or simply to give a loved one a change of scene and some time to themselves. Respite guests are welcomed with the same warmth and attention as our permanent residents, ensuring their stay is restorative and reassuring.

Families often tell us that peace of mind matters just as much as practical care, and this is something we take seriously. We believe in open communication, involving relatives in decisions, listening carefully to preferences, and celebrating the small moments that make each day meaningful. From favourite meals to cherished routines, we take the time to understand what makes each resident who they are.

We are proud that our home has been rated Outstanding overall by the Care Quality Commission, with Outstanding ratings in both the Responsive and Well led categories, alongside Good ratings for Safe, Effective and Caring. This recognition reflects the dedication of our team and the culture of compassion, leadership and responsiveness that shapes life here. Being rated Outstanding is not simply a badge; it is a reflection of the trust placed in us by residents and families, and the standards we work hard to uphold every single day.

Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the weight of that choice. If you are exploring options for a loved one in Loughborough or the surrounding area, we would be delighted to welcome you for a visit, answer your questions and show you what life at Derbyshire House Residential Care is really like. Whatever stage you are at in your search, please know that our door is always open, and our team is here to support you with warmth, honesty and care.
