About Us
Falmouth House is a care home in Whitley Bay. We provide residential care for older people and younger adults, and we support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and people affected by alcohol or drug misuse. Respite stays are available too.
The people who live here have arrived by very different routes, and some have had a rough time of it before they got to us. We do not treat that history as a character reference. What matters is how somebody wants to live now and what support would make that possible, and we start every plan from that conversation rather than from a file.
Living here is meant to be ordinary. People come and go, use the town, keep their own routines and make their own decisions, including decisions we might not have chosen for them. Where somebody is working towards more independence, we back that properly instead of quietly holding them where they are.
Staff are here to support, to notice and to be consistent. Consistency is worth more than enthusiasm for most of the people we support, particularly those who have had a lot of things change without warning.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking for a placement in North Tyneside, get in touch and come and see us.
