About Us

At West Farm Care Centre, we provide residential and dementia care for older people in the heart of Newcastle Upon Tyne, North Tyneside. We also offer respite care for those who need a shorter stay, whether that is to give a family carer a much needed break or to support someone during a period of recovery or transition.

We understand that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we do not take that lightly. From the very first conversation, we aim to make people feel heard and unhurried. We want to get to know the person coming to live with us, not just their care needs, but their preferences, their routines, their sense of humour and what makes them feel at home.

Our team works hard to create an environment that feels genuinely homely and calm. For those living with dementia, we know how much the little details matter, familiar faces, consistent routines and an atmosphere free from unnecessary stress. We think carefully about how we can support each person to live as well as possible, whatever that looks like for them individually.

We are pleased to hold a Good rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the honest, everyday efforts of our whole team. It means a great deal to us, though we never see it as a reason to stop looking for ways to do better.

If you are considering West Farm Care Centre for yourself or someone you love, we would warmly encourage you to get in touch or come and see us in person. A visit will always tell you far more than any written description can, and we are genuinely happy to answer any questions you might have along the way.
