About Us

Here at Sunningdale Court Care Home, we are proud to be a trusted part of the Scunthorpe community in North Lincolnshire, providing residential care for people who need a little extra support in their daily lives.

We specialise in supporting younger adults, including those living with a learning disability or autism, and we work hard to ensure that every person who lives with us is treated as an individual. We take the time to understand what matters to each resident, what brings them comfort, what makes them laugh, and how they like their day to look. That understanding shapes everything we do.

Our approach is rooted in respect and genuine relationships. We believe that where you live should feel like home, not just a place where care happens. We encourage residents to make choices, maintain their independence wherever possible, and stay connected to the things and people that are important to them. Whether that means keeping up with hobbies, enjoying time with family, or simply having a familiar routine, we are here to make that possible.

Our team works closely together and genuinely cares about the people they support. We invest in training and development so that staff have the knowledge and confidence to support residents well, particularly those with more complex needs around learning disability and autism. Good support comes from truly understanding a person, and that takes time, consistency and real commitment.

We are pleased that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in an overall rating of good, which reflects the hard work of everyone here and the standards we hold ourselves to every day.

If you would like to find out more about life at Sunningdale Court Care Home, we would love to hear from you. We are always happy to have a conversation or arrange a visit.

More about the care at Sunningdale Court-Care Home

What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.

Learning Disability / Autism

Support for people with a learning disability or autism works best when it is built around the individual, with predictable routines, clear communication and attention to sensory preferences. Sunningdale Court Care Home is registered for this type of care, and placements are normally arranged by North Lincolnshire Council with regular reviews of the support plan. Ask how goals around independence, choice and community access are set, recorded and revisited over time.

Younger Adults

Adults under 65 often want a lifestyle that reflects their age, including hobbies, work or study links, friendships and time outside the home. That can be harder to sustain in a service where most residents are much older. Sunningdale Court Care Home is registered to support younger adults, so it is worth asking how peer connections, age appropriate activities and personal goals are built into daily life.

Respite Care

Planned short stays at Sunningdale Court Care Home in Scunthorpe need booking well ahead, since rooms are limited and school holidays fill quickly. Most homes ask for a minimum of one or two weeks and request medication, care notes, comfortable clothing and familiar items. A CQC inspection in May 2026 rated the service as requires improvement, so read the report first. Respite can also work as a trial before considering a permanent move.

Residential Care

Choosing a residential care home usually comes down to needing help with the everyday things that have become harder to manage alone. Sunningdale Court Care Home is registered to provide residential care in Scunthorpe, which covers support with washing, dressing, medication prompts, meals prepared on site, and companionship through the day. Unlike a nursing home, residential settings do not have a qualified nurse on the premises around the clock, so any nursing tasks are arranged through community NHS services. Weekly fees across Yorkshire and Humberside typically sit between £800 and £1050, while North Lincolnshire Council usually funds placements at roughly £650 to £800 a week, so any gap may need a top up. Ask the home how activities are planned, how meals accommodate preferences, and how they involve families in day to day decisions.
