About Us
Greenacres Care Home is a residential care home in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, providing a settled home for older people who need help with daily living. We care for residents living with dementia and people with a physical disability, and we offer respite stays for those needing care for a shorter time.
Our aim is an ordinary life with good support behind it. Residents decide when they get up, where they spend the day and what they eat. Meals are prepared here and we take account of what people actually enjoy. Staff take time to learn a resident's history and habits, which is what makes dementia support work in practice rather than only on paper.
We need to be open with you about our most recent inspection. The Care Quality Commission rated us requires improvement overall. We accepted the findings rather than disputing them, and we have an improvement plan that we are working through, with closer checks on the areas the inspectors identified. We would rather you heard that from us and saw the progress for yourself.
We keep in regular contact with local GPs and community nurses so that health changes are picked up early, and we make a point of keeping families informed rather than ringing only when something has gone wrong. Relatives are welcome whenever suits them.
If you are thinking about the home for yourself or a family member, please come and look round and ask us anything.
