About Crossways
Crossways is a residential care home in Sheringham, a short way from the north Norfolk coast. We are a home first and a care setting second, and that shapes most of what we do: mealtimes people look forward to, doors that stay open to family, and days that belong to the people living here rather than to a timetable. We provide residential care for older people, including those living with dementia, and we support residents who have a physical disability or who live with sight or hearing loss. Our team is used to adapting, whether that means slowing a conversation down, changing the light in a room, or finding a quieter corner when the lounge feels busy. We also offer respite stays, which can give a family carer a genuine break and sometimes give the person staying with us a gentle introduction to life here. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is Good. We are pleased with that, though the things we watch most closely are smaller: whether someone slept well, whether the garden is being used, whether a resident has had a proper conversation today. Anyone thinking about a move is welcome to visit, stay for lunch and ask us whatever they like. It is far easier to judge a care home by standing in it than by reading about it.
