About Us
Ebenezer Residential Care Home is a care home in Newham, east London. The people living here include older people and younger adults, along with people managing mental health conditions, and we also offer respite stays for shorter periods of care.
Because the people living here need quite different things from us, support is agreed with each person rather than run to one pattern. People have their own rooms, their own belongings and their own routines, and they have a real say in how their days go. Some of those who come to us have had unsettled periods and a number of moves, so the first thing we try to offer is somewhere calm where nothing changes without warning and where people are treated as adults making their own decisions.
For some the aim is to work towards managing more independently, perhaps around cooking, money, appointments or getting back into work or study. For others it is reliable support that simply holds steady. Both are legitimate and we try not to push people towards goals that are ours rather than theirs. We work closely with mental health, social work and health colleagues, because support everybody has agreed on is the support that lasts.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep examining our practice around privacy, choice and the way concerns are handled. If you are considering a place with us, please come and visit, meet the people who live here and ask us whatever you need to know.
