About Us
Rhodsac is a residential care home in Milton Keynes, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults alongside people managing mental health conditions. Most of those living here are younger adults, and we also offer respite stays.
Our work is less about doing things for people than about helping a life hold together. A routine worth getting up for, meals eaten properly, medication taken, something in the week that belongs to the person rather than to their care. For many of those living here, those ordinary rhythms have been hard to sustain alone, and a settled household with people who know them well is what makes them workable again.
We try hard to keep this feeling like a home. People have their own space and their own routine, they are involved in decisions about the place, and they come and go as adults. Progress is uneven and does not run to a timetable, so we aim to be steady rather than to push.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather state it here than have somebody find it and wonder what else we left out. We accept the findings and are working through them, and we would encourage anyone considering us to visit unannounced and ask us difficult questions about where we have got to.
