About Oak Lodge
Oak Lodge is a residential care home in Mablethorpe supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. We also offer respite stays. We run this as a household rather than as a service with bedrooms attached. People choose how their rooms look, what they eat, when they get up and how much of the day they spend in company. Those choices are not a nice extra. They are most of what makes a place worth living in, and they take consistent effort to protect when staff change and pressures build. Support is planned around what each person wants to be able to do rather than only around risk. Cooking, shopping, handling money, using the bus, getting to activities or work, and keeping up with family and friends. Where someone needs a great deal of help, we still look hard for the parts they can take on themselves, because independence disappears quietly unless somebody is watching for it. Communication and environment get real attention. We learn how each person tells us what they want, including those who use little or no speech, and we adjust to them rather than the other way round. Noise, lighting, predictability and having somewhere quiet to retreat to all shape how good a day somebody has. Being near the coast, getting out is easy and is part of the ordinary week. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to come and see us.
