About Us
Baring Lodge is a residential home in Lewisham supporting younger adults, including people living with mental ill health.
We keep the house small and the atmosphere calm, because both make a real difference to how settled people feel. Everybody has their own room to retreat to and a genuine say in how the household runs, from what gets cooked to how the shared space is used.
Where mental ill health is part of the picture, we work closely with community teams and make sure the person is properly involved in decisions about their own care rather than having those decisions made over their head. Stability is what helps most, so we keep routines steady and staff familiar, and we do not make a drama out of the difficult days.
Life here is meant to be a life. People are supported to keep going with education, work, family and friendships rather than putting everything on hold, and we give as much or as little help with that as somebody actually wants.
Short respite stays are available, which can also be a sensible way of finding out whether the house suits before anyone commits.
Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to visit and see how the house works.
