About Whetstone Grange
We are Whetstone Grange, a residential care home in Leicestershire. We support older people, people living with dementia, adults managing a mental health condition, and people with a physical disability. What we provide is residential care rather than nursing care, and we are straightforward with families about that distinction so that nobody moves in somewhere that cannot meet their needs. Within that, we help with washing and dressing, support with medication, provide proper meals, and make sure people are not left to spend their days alone unless that is what they want. The home is run around the people living in it. Nobody is woken to suit a rota, mealtimes bend to the person rather than the other way round, and how somebody spends the day is up to them. Our staff aim to know residents well enough to spot when a person is off their food, more tired than usual or simply not themselves, because those early signs are what prevent bigger problems. We keep families properly in the picture and we would always rather ring about a small worry than explain a large one later. Relatives are welcome to visit whenever suits them. We take respite stays as well as permanent residents, which helps family carers who need a break and people recovering their strength after a spell in hospital. Please contact us if you would like to come and look round.
