About Windsor Court

Windsor Court is a residential care home in Wetherby. We offer older people a settled, permanent home, and we also provide respite stays for people who need care for a short spell or whose regular carer needs a break. The help people need from us is mostly practical: getting up and dressed, bathing, moving about safely, medication given properly and on time, and meals that are worth looking forward to. A good number of our residents are living with dementia. We do not treat that as a separate department. It shapes how the whole house works, from how we speak to people and how we signpost rooms through to how much noise there is in the afternoon and how we handle the moments when somebody is anxious or wants to go home. Wetherby is a decent sort of place to grow old in, and we make use of it. There are walks, trips into town, visitors who call in on their way past, and a garden people actually sit in. Nobody has to join anything. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Choosing a home is not a decision to make from a brochure, so please come and visit, more than once if you want to, and ask us the awkward questions.
