About Stanley Grange

Stanley Grange is a residential care home near Preston, and we support older people who need help with daily living, adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, adults living with mental ill health, and younger adults. Respite stays are available as well. Supporting a mix of people in one place means paying real attention to what each of them wants from the day. Some residents like company and plenty going on. Others want quiet and predictability, and to be left in peace until they choose otherwise. For autistic people especially, that predictability is a need rather than a preference, so changes are explained in advance, staffing is kept consistent where we can, and sensory comfort is taken seriously. Support covers personal care, medication, meals, money and the practical business of running a home, and wherever we can we do things alongside people rather than for them. A skill used is a skill kept, and we are patient about that even when it takes longer. For residents living with mental ill health, what we mostly offer is steadiness: a team who do not judge and a household that holds together when somebody has a difficult stretch. We are also interested in what people want beyond the house: work, college, hobbies, friendships and family visits. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families and professionals are welcome to visit and ask us whatever they need to know.
