About Us
Kesteven Grange is a residential care home in Hull. We support older people, including those living with dementia, and we also care for younger adults who need residential support. Respite stays are available for planned breaks and for periods of recovery.
Our aim is that this feels like somebody's home rather than a place they have been put. People bring their own things, choose when to get up, decide how to spend the day and eat food cooked here at hours that suit them. Our staff help with washing, dressing, mobility, medication and meals, unhurried and in a way that protects dignity, and there are staff awake through the night. Health needs are managed alongside the local general practice, district nurses and therapists so that changes are picked up early.
Dementia care here comes down to familiarity and patience. We hold routines steady, keep belongings and photographs within easy reach, and follow the person's own sense of the day rather than arguing with it. Families tell us about the life somebody has led, and that turns out to be one of the most practical things we hold on file.
Relatives and friends are part of the household rather than visitors to be managed. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and we would be glad to show you round on an ordinary day rather than a staged one.
