About Us
Our home on Marine Parade in Whitstable is a residential care home supporting older people who need help with daily life, adults with mental health needs and some younger adults. We take the view that a good home is one where people still make their own decisions.
Our staff help with washing and dressing, medication, meals and anything else that has become difficult, in a way that leaves people their dignity and their own habits. Residents choose when to get up, where to spend the day, what they eat and whether they want company. We will encourage somebody who has withdrawn, but we will not pester them.
For residents with mental health needs, the most useful things we offer are stability, a calm household and staff who know a person well enough to notice when something has changed. We work with local mental health services and doctors, and we keep families as involved as the person wants them to be.
Being on the seafront helps, and getting out for some air is part of the ordinary week rather than a special event.
Respite stays are available, which can give a family carer a break or support somebody through a short period of difficulty. Please come and see us and ask whatever you need to ask.
