About Ebbsfleet House
Ebbsfleet House is a residential home in Ramsgate, Kent. We support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. This is a house in a town rather than an institution, and that is not a small distinction. The people who live here have their own rooms and their own belongings and a real say in how a week looks. Support plans are agreed with the person and written in language the person can actually read. Staff are matched to people with some thought rather than allocated to whoever is on shift. Support means doing things with people and not to them or for them. Cooking, shopping, budgeting, travel, appointments, keeping in touch with family, and handling organisations that were plainly not designed for people who think differently. Where somebody needs a great deal of structure and predictability in order to feel safe, we hold that routine consistently and without treating it as a nuisance. Ramsgate has a harbour, a beach and plenty going on, and getting out into it is treated as part of ordinary life rather than as an outing arranged once a quarter. When a plan involves risk, we start from how it might be made to work rather than from a refusal. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Come and meet the people who live here.
