About St Brelades

Here at St Brelades, we are a care home based in Herne Bay, Kent, and we provide residential care and support for older people, including those living with dementia. We also offer respite care for those who need a short break from their usual arrangements, whether planned or at short notice. We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we do not take that lightly. From the moment someone enquires with us, we try to make the process feel as straightforward and reassuring as possible. We want families to feel comfortable asking questions, taking their time, and visiting us more than once before making any decisions. Our team works hard to get to know each resident as an individual, understanding their routines, their preferences, and the things that matter most to them day to day. Good care, in our view, is rooted in genuine relationships and in truly listening to the people we support and their families. We are honest about where we are as a service. Our most recent CQC inspection resulted in a rating of requires improvement, and we have taken that feedback seriously. We have been working through the areas identified and making changes that we believe will make a real difference to the people living here. We are committed to being open about our progress and welcome any conversations with families who want to understand what we are doing and why. Herne Bay is a community we feel proud to be part of, and many of our residents have lived in and around the area for much of their lives. Being able to remain close to familiar surroundings, friends, and family matters enormously, and we are glad to be here to support that. If you would like to find out more or arrange a visit, please do get in touch.
