Rose Cottage is a residential care home in Ashford, Kent (TN25 6NT). It holds a CQC rating of Good.

About Rose Cottage

Rose Cottage is a residential care home in Ashford supporting adults with a learning disability or autism, with respite stays available as well as permanent places. This is home for the people who live here, and we try to keep that fact at the front of everything. People choose how their days are spent, what they eat, what they do and who they see. Our staff are here to make those choices workable, and to step back when they are not needed, which is a skill in itself. Where somebody is autistic, we pay close attention to the things that are easy to overlook. Noise and light, warning before change, consistency in how things are done, and communication in whatever form suits the person. If somebody becomes distressed, we want to understand what caused it rather than treat the behaviour as the difficulty in itself. We also support people to build practical skills at their own pace, from cooking and laundry to handling money and getting about locally, because independence grows through doing rather than through being told about it. Respite stays can give families a planned break and help somebody get used to us gradually. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please contact us if you would like to visit or discuss a placement.
