About Brambles Care Home
Brambles is a residential care home in Ashford, Kent, supporting older people. We offer permanent places and respite stays. We try to run the home the way a household runs rather than the way an institution does. People get up when they are ready. They keep their own belongings, their own routines and their own opinions about the television. Meals are worth sitting down to and worth having a view about. Where somebody can manage a thing themselves, we support rather than take over, even when doing it for them would be quicker. The weeks after a move matter more than anything that follows, so that is where we put our attention. We want to know what somebody did for a living, who is important to them, what they like to eat, when they prefer to wake and what turns a bad day around. None of that arrives on a form. It comes from sitting down and asking, and from listening to families, who usually know more than any paperwork records. Respite stays give a family carer a break that is genuinely a break, with proper support in place. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit on an ordinary day.
