About Us
Alan Morkill House is a residential care home in Kensington and Chelsea, in the middle of London. We support older people, including those living with dementia, and we also welcome younger adults whose needs are best met in a residential setting.
City life does not stop when someone moves into a care home. Our residents came from these streets, and many still have family, friends, places of worship and habits close by. We try to keep those threads intact rather than replacing them with a timetable. That means flexible routines, visitors welcome, and support to get out when someone wants to.
For people living with dementia, familiarity does a great deal of the work. Knowing who will come through the door, recognising the room, hearing the same voices and the same music, eating at the times the body expects. We build around what a person can still do rather than cataloguing what they cannot.
Respite stays are available as well, which can be a practical help when a family carer needs a break or when someone needs a period of support before returning home.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would rather you judged us in person than on a page, so please arrange to come and look around, meet the team and talk to people who live here.
