About Us
The Forbury is a residential care home in Leominster, Herefordshire. We support older people, including those living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places.
We try to run the home the way a household runs rather than the way an institution does. People keep their own belongings and their own habits. Meals are something to look forward to and to have an opinion about. Mornings are not hurried. Where somebody can do a thing for themselves, we support rather than replace, even when doing it ourselves would be quicker.
For people living with dementia, familiarity carries most of the weight. Consistent faces, a predictable shape to the day, food and music from the right part of a life, and staff who do not correct or rush. Where a person is living with a mental health condition, we work with community teams and with families so that support stays joined up and a hard week is met with patience.
Respite stays give a family carer a proper break, or offer somebody support for a shorter period without a permanent move.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please arrange to visit if you are considering the home. We will answer your questions straight.
