About Ashking House
Ashking House is a residential care home in Romford. We support older people and younger adults, and the people who live here have a wide range of needs. We care for residents with learning disabilities and autism, residents living with mental health conditions, residents with physical disabilities and residents living with sight or hearing loss. Running one routine and expecting everybody to fit it would not work, so we do not try. Somebody who wants a quiet and predictable week should be able to have one; somebody who wants to be out and busy should be supported to be. We work out what suits each person, we write it down so that support stays consistent across shifts, and we revisit it as people change. Whatever the need, this is somebody's home. People decide how their room looks, when they get up, what they eat and how the day goes. Care is given discreetly and with proper respect for privacy, and we support people to keep doing whatever they can still manage themselves. Where somebody communicates in their own particular way, our staff learn it rather than guessing. Families are welcome and we keep relatives properly informed. Respite stays are available as well, giving family carers a planned break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit us and ask us whatever you would like to know.
