About Us
Outlook Care on Dagenham Road is a residential care home in Romford, in the Barking and Dagenham area. The people living here include older people, younger adults and people managing mental health conditions, and we also offer respite stays for shorter periods.
Because our residents need different things from us, we do not run the house to one timetable. Support is agreed with each person, around how they want their days to go and how much help they actually want. Some people here are working towards managing more independently. Others need steady support that does not keep changing. Both matter equally and we try to be careful about the difference between supporting somebody and taking over, since independence is easily eroded by help that arrives too fast.
People keep their own rooms, their own belongings and their own routines, and they decide how much of the day to spend in company. We encourage people to use the local area, keep up with interests and stay in touch with family and friends, so that the home is part of their life rather than the whole of it. We also work closely with mental health and social work colleagues, because joined up support tends to be the support that holds.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep looking at the things that quietly slip in any home, particularly privacy and choice. If you are considering a place with us, please visit and meet the people who live here.
