About Us
We are a residential care home on London Road in Waterlooville, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults. We also offer respite stays.
Our starting point is that this is where people live, not where they have been placed. People arrange their own rooms, have a real say in the food and the shopping, and are involved in how the household runs. Where somebody can do a thing themselves, our job is to make that possible rather than to do it faster on their behalf, even when the quicker route is tempting.
Where somebody wants a job, a course, a club or simply a regular place to go, we treat that as the purpose of our support rather than an extra. It is usually the thing that makes the rest of the week worth organising.
Predictability is something we take seriously. For many of the people living here, knowing what is happening and who will be on shift is what separates a settled day from a hard one, so we plan ahead and explain changes early rather than rearranging casually.
Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep asking the people who live here, and those who know them best, what would make this a better place to live, and we act on what we are told.
