About Yercombe Trust

We are the Yercombe Trust, a residential care home near Dursley, Gloucestershire. We support older people and younger adults, including people with physical disabilities, and we also offer respite stays. Because we support people with physical disabilities, a good deal of our attention goes on access, equipment and the practical business of getting about. Where those needs are met properly and without fuss, they stop shaping somebody's day and leave them free to think about the rest of their life. That matters particularly for younger adults, who have often been offered places designed for people decades older, and we plan around their own interests and independence instead. We are careful to support independence rather than quietly replacing it. If somebody can do a thing themselves, more slowly than we could do it for them, then it is their time and their decision, and we work at their pace. Respite stays give family carers a proper break, and they let somebody find out how the place suits them before any longer decision is made. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to visit and ask us anything you wish.
