About Us
Stinchcombe Manor in Dursley provides residential care to older people and younger adults, including residents living with dementia, residents managing mental health conditions and residents with a physical disability.
With that range of needs we plan around the individual rather than the group. When someone moves in we ask a great many questions, about routines and preferences, about what helps on a difficult day, and about who should be involved in decisions. Those answers go into a plan that staff genuinely work to, and we revisit it as circumstances change.
Day to day we keep the home comfortable and unhurried. People get up when they are ready, meals are cooked here and adapted to individual tastes, and help with personal care is given calmly and with dignity.
We want to be honest about our position. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather set that out plainly and answer your questions about it, and improving it is the focus of our work at present.
We also offer respite stays for shorter periods. Relatives are welcome here, and we would far rather be told about a concern straight away than discover it later.
