About Us
Here at The Oaks Care Home in Blaydon on Tyne, Gateshead, we provide residential care for people who deserve to feel genuinely at home, supported, and valued every single day.
We care for older adults, younger adults, and people living with a learning disability or autism, and we also offer respite care for those who need a shorter stay. Whether someone joins us for a few weeks or makes this their permanent home, we want the experience to feel consistent, warm, and rooted in real understanding of who they are as an individual.
Our team gets to know each person properly, not just their care needs but their preferences, their routines, the things that matter to them and the things that make them laugh. That kind of knowledge takes time and genuine attention, and we think it is what makes the difference between care that is adequate and care that actually works.
We are proud that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us as Good. That reflects the hard work of everyone here, and it gives families some reassurance when they are making what is often a very difficult decision. We never take that trust lightly.
Blaydon on Tyne is a community we are genuinely part of, not just located in, and that sense of belonging extends into the home itself. We encourage connections, whether that means staying close to family, taking part in activities, or simply having a proper conversation over a cup of tea.
If you are considering The Oaks for yourself or someone close to you, we would always encourage you to come and visit, have a look around, and ask us anything you like. We think that is the best way to get a real feel for who we are.
