About Us

Squeaks House Residential Care Home is in Southminster, Essex. We provide residential care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, and we offer respite stays.

We want to be straightforward about our regulatory position. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We have accepted the findings rather than disputed them, we are working through an improvement plan, and we have made changes to training, supervision and the way we record and review the care we give. We would rather answer questions about it face to face than have families rely on a leaflet.

The daily work of the home goes on meanwhile. Residents keep their own routines, choose how they spend the day and what they eat, and are helped with washing, dressing, medication and getting about in the way that suits them. For people living with dementia, our team relies on knowing the person, their history and the things that reassure them.

Families are welcome at any reasonable time and we keep in touch with them honestly.

If you are considering us, please come and look round, ask the difficult questions and judge us on what you find here rather than on what we say about ourselves.
