About Us
New Partnerships Lynray and Peach Cottage is a residential care home in Braintree supporting younger adults living with a learning disability, autism or a physical disability. We are two houses working closely together, which lets us keep each one small and settled while sharing the skills and cover of a larger team.
The people we support live here. That sounds obvious, but it shapes everything: it is their home, their choice of room, their routine, their visitors and their front door. Our job is to provide the support that makes those choices workable, whether that is help with personal care and mobility, support to communicate, or someone alongside for the things that would otherwise be out of reach.
We put a lot into knowing people well. Understanding what someone is telling us when they cannot tell us in words, noticing when a familiar behaviour is really pain or frustration, and adjusting what we do rather than restricting what they do. Braintree and the wider Essex area give us plenty to get out for, and time beyond the house is part of normal life.
We also offer respite, giving families a planned break with people who prepare properly for a short stay.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is Requires Improvement. We are not going to gloss over that. We have taken the findings seriously, we have an improvement plan in place, and we are happy to talk openly with families about what is changing and how quickly.
Visitors are welcome, and questions even more so.
