About Us
We at The Park Beck are proud to offer residential care in the welcoming coastal town of St Leonards On Sea, East Sussex. Our home has been thoughtfully designed to provide a comfortable, secure and homely setting for older people and younger adults who benefit from dedicated support with daily living.
Nestled within the TN postcode area, our location offers the gentle charm of the South East coast, with St Leonards On Sea providing a peaceful backdrop for residents and easy access for visiting family and friends. The surroundings encourage a calm pace of life, whilst the local community adds a familiar sense of place that many of our residents find genuinely reassuring.
Inside, we focus on creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere. Communal areas invite conversation and companionship, whilst private spaces offer the quiet and dignity every resident deserves. Our environment has been shaped with accessibility in mind, ensuring those living with physical disability or visual and hearing impairment can navigate their day with confidence and comfort.
Our specialist areas of care reflect the diverse needs of the people we support. We provide older person care and residential care with a person centred approach that honours each resident's history, preferences and personality. For those living with dementia, our team works patiently and compassionately to preserve familiarity, routine and identity, offering reassurance to families who want to know their loved one feels safe and understood.
We also welcome younger adults, recognising that meaningful care is not defined by age but by individual need. Whether someone requires support due to a physical disability, sensory impairment, or a combination of needs, we tailor our approach so that independence is nurtured wherever possible and support is delivered with quiet dignity. For families navigating a period of change, recovery or caregiver rest, our respite care offers short term stays in a fully supportive environment, giving everyone involved space to breathe and regroup.
In practice, this means our residents enjoy consistent, familiar faces, thoughtful daily routines and the knowledge that their wellbeing, both physical and emotional, is at the heart of everything we do. Families are welcomed as partners in care, and we understand how important open communication is when trust is being built.
Regarding our regulatory position, our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection resulted in an overall rating of Requires Improvement, with Effective, Caring and Responsive each rated Good, and Safe and Well led rated as Requires Improvement. We take this feedback seriously and view it as a meaningful guide for continued growth. The Good ratings in our caring, effective and responsive domains reflect the compassion and attentiveness our team brings to residents each day, and we remain committed to strengthening every area of our practice so that the experience we deliver continues to develop.
If you are exploring care options for a loved one, we warmly invite you to reach out to learn more about life at The Park Beck. What the inspectors found
A plain English summary of the Care Quality Commission inspection behind the current rating of The Park Beck. Report published 25 August 2023.
- 18 July 2023
- 37 places, 14 people were using the service at the time
Safe
Inspectors found improvements were needed to make sure risks to people, for example moving and handling, were managed safely. Care plans and records did not always contain all the information staff needed to support people. Inspectors found a breach in relation to safe care and treatment. There were enough staff who had been recruited safely, and medicines were managed well.
Effective
Inspectors found people had enough to eat and drink and were offered a choice of meals that suited their needs. People were supported to maintain and improve their health through regular reviews with health and social care staff. Staff received training that was regularly updated.
Well-led
Inspectors found an audit system was in place, but it had not identified all the shortfalls they found. The registered manager and provider had oversight of the service and had made improvements. These needed more time to be embedded into everyday practice. Inspectors found a breach in relation to good governance.
