About Us
1 Johnson Close is a small residential care home in St Leonards on Sea. We support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, older people who need residential care, and younger adults, and the size of the house is central to how it works. In a home this small everybody knows everybody, changes get noticed quickly, and nobody becomes a case rather than a person.
People living here have their own rooms, their own things and a genuine say in how the household runs. We take time to learn how each person communicates and what matters to them, because support that is not built on that is only supervision. From there we look at what somebody wants from their week, whether that is work or college, seeing family and friends, getting out locally, or simply a home that feels properly theirs.
We also offer respite stays, which give families a rest and give the person staying a change of company with support they can rely on.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. We keep our own checks going between inspections, because standards are held in the ordinary running of a house rather than on inspection day.
If you are looking for a home or a short stay for someone you care about, please get in touch and come and see us.
