About Us
Mere Hall is a residential care home in Hornsea, East Riding of Yorkshire, providing a permanent home for adults who need care and support with everyday life. We aim for a household where people are known properly rather than simply managed well.
Our care is residential rather than nursing. We help with personal care, medication, meals, mobility and company, and we bring in community health professionals when something more clinical is needed. Many of our residents live with dementia, and we rely on continuity above all: familiar staff who know a person's history, a routine that does not keep shifting and reassurance given as often as it is needed. We also care for residents with physical disabilities, adjusting how we help with mobility so that independence is kept wherever it can be, and we support younger adults, planning their interests and routines on their own terms.
Respite stays are available, giving family carers a real break and letting somebody try the home before a permanent decision is made.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please visit on an ordinary day, speak to the people who live here and form your own impression of the place.
