About Us
We are The Lombrand, a residential care home in Bridlington. We support adults living with mental health conditions, and we also offer respite stays.
Much of what we do is about structure without rigidity. For a lot of the people who live here, a predictable day, a decent meal, a proper night's sleep, medication that is right and taken, and somebody who notices how you are doing make the difference between coping and struggling. So we pay attention to routine, and to the quieter signs that somebody is finding things harder than usual.
Equally, this is a home and not a treatment programme. People come and go, see their families, keep up their own interests and make their own choices about how they spend the day. Where somebody wants to work towards living more independently, we support that too, and we would rather help them try than keep them safe and stuck.
Respite stays give carers at home a genuine break, and they let somebody try the place without committing to anything.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are open to visitors and open to questions, including awkward ones. Please contact us if you would like to see the home for yourself.

Can Mum or Dad stay here if their dementia gets worse?
No. The Lombrand Limited is not listed for dementia care on the CQC register. If dementia is likely, choose a home that is, so a second move is not needed later. Source: CQC register

Ask the home. End of life care is not listed on the register. Ask the manager whether residents can remain in the home with hospice or district nurse support.

Ask the home. The home has not told us its pet policy yet. Ask directly; some homes allow small pets in residents' rooms or welcome visiting dogs.

Ask the home. We do not know whether the home has rooms for couples. Ask about shared or adjoining rooms if this matters.
Will the council help pay, or is it self funded only?
Ask the home. The home has not told us which funding it accepts. Most homes take both council funded and self funded residents; ask about council rates and any top up. Use our funding calculator to check what you might pay.
Do they take younger adults as well as older people?
Ask the home. The register does not say which age groups the home supports. Ask the home.
Can I visit before deciding, and are there visiting hours?
Ask the home. Every home should welcome a visit. Call to arrange one, ideally at a mealtime or during an activity, and ask about visiting hours for family.
