About Us
Apple Tree House is a residential care home in Beverley supporting adults with a learning disability or autism, with respite stays available alongside permanent places.
We want to be straightforward about where we stand. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We have an improvement plan in place, we are working through it with the people who live here, their families and their social workers, and we are reporting on our progress to the inspectors. If you are considering a place here, please ask us precisely what was found, what has changed and how we are making sure it lasts.
What we are working to protect meanwhile is the character of the house. This is a home, not a unit. People have their own rooms and their own things, they choose how their week is spent, and they are supported to do as much for themselves as they want to, whether that is cooking, shopping, managing money or getting out and about in Beverley.
Our staff take the time to learn how each person communicates, including those who do not use speech, and we write that down so everyone supports somebody in the same way rather than by guesswork.
Respite guests are planned for properly, with a visit first and a conversation about what matters to the person, so a short stay feels welcoming rather than unsettling.
Please come and see the house and ask us the hard questions.
