About Pranam Care Centre

We are a residential care home in Southall, supporting older people and younger adults who need help with daily life. That includes people living with dementia, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. We also take respite bookings for shorter stays. Looking after people with such different needs in one place works only if you begin with the person. We spend the first weeks finding out how somebody has always run their day. When they like to wake and go to bed, what they will eat and what they will not touch, whether they want company or their own space, what they did for work or for pleasure. Care that ignores all that may be safe, but it will not feel like living anywhere. For people living with dementia the steadiness of the day does much of the work. Familiar faces, an unhurried pace and staff who can read what somebody is telling them when the words are hard to find. Where sight or hearing loss is part of the picture, how we approach a person and how a room is arranged decide whether they feel included or shut out, and we expect staff to get that right without being reminded. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families are welcome and we would always rather you came and saw the place. Please contact us and we will arrange a visit at a time that suits you.
