About Us
Norwood Green Care Home is a residential care home in Southall, in Ealing. We support older people and younger adults, including residents living with dementia and adults with a mental health condition, and we offer respite care for planned short stays.
Moving into a care home is a considerable thing to ask of anyone, so we try to make the practical side of it calm and unhurried. Before somebody arrives we spend time with them and with the people who know them best, because it is the small details that decide how quickly a person settles. How they take their tea. Whether they are early risers. What work they did. What food they grew up with. Who they want to hear from.
After that, the day belongs to the resident. People choose when to get up, what to eat, where to sit and how much company they want. Meals are proper meals and we take note of what people genuinely enjoy, which in a community as varied as this one means paying real attention to culture, language and faith rather than treating everybody the same.
Dementia support runs through the whole home. We keep surroundings familiar, avoid rushing anybody, and take the time to understand what settles a particular resident.
Respite stays are planned with the same care as a permanent move, whether a family carer needs a break or a household wants to try the home first.
Visitors are welcome and we would far rather families felt at home here. Please contact us to arrange a visit.
