About The Manor House Residential Home
The Manor House Residential Home is a residential care home in Seaton, on the Devon coast, where we look after older people who need support with everyday life. Life here is not complicated, and we think that is part of the appeal. Residents get up when they wake, eat when they are hungry, sit where they like and spend their time as they choose. Behind that, our staff quietly manage the things that have become difficult, from personal care and medication to laundry and meals, so that people can put their energy into the parts of the day they actually enjoy. A number of the people living with us have dementia. We have found that what helps most is keeping things familiar, giving people time to respond, and knowing enough about somebody's life to be good company. Families tell us that matters more than any facility we could list. We also offer respite stays. Sometimes a family carer needs a planned break, and sometimes someone needs a period of support after an illness before returning home. Either way people are welcomed as part of the household rather than treated as temporary. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. We are pleased with that, and we keep asking residents and relatives what we could do better. If you would like to look round The Manor House, please ring us and arrange a visit. You are welcome to come more than once before making up your mind.
