About Us
Grove House Care Home is a residential care home in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The people living here include older people, many of them living with dementia, along with younger adults, people managing mental health conditions and people living with an eating disorder. Respite stays are available.
Because our residents need quite different things from us, support is planned with each person rather than run to a single pattern. People keep their own rooms, their own belongings and their own routines, and they decide how much of the day to spend in company and how much on their own. We ask about the small preferences in detail and expect our staff to follow them, since those details are most of what makes a place feel like home rather than an institution.
For residents living with dementia, consistency helps more than anything. Familiar staff, routines that change only when there is a reason, and the patience to understand what somebody means when words have become unreliable. We work closely with mental health and health colleagues where that is part of somebody's support.
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and we are glad to be asked about our staffing, our training and how we handle concerns. If you are considering a care home in Chesterfield for yourself or someone close to you, you are welcome to visit, meet our staff and residents and ask us anything you like.
