About The Params

The Params is a residential care home in Purley. We support older people, including residents living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people with a visual or hearing impairment and younger adults. We also support people recovering from an eating disorder, and we offer respite stays. Bringing together people with quite different needs works only if you plan around each person, so that is what we do. Everyone here has their own plan, agreed with them and with anyone they want involved, covering not just the help they need but what they want their days to hold. The basics apply to everybody. People choose when to get up, what to eat and how much company they want. Privacy is respected and personal care is given quietly and at the person's own pace. Rooms are furnished with people's own belongings. Where someone is in recovery from an eating disorder, mealtimes are handled with care and without drama, following the plan agreed with them and with the professionals involved rather than improvising. Where somebody does not use speech, we learn how they do communicate and make sure the team knows. Our staffing stays as settled as we can manage, because knowing a person properly is what lets you notice an early change. The Care Quality Commission rated us good overall at our most recent inspection. Please come and look round.
