About The White House
The White House is a residential care home in Falmouth supporting older people, including those staying with us for respite. We are a small home and that shapes everything. Staff know every resident properly rather than in outline, and residents know each other. People get up when they are ready, eat what they want and spend their days as they choose, with company if they want it and quiet if they do not. Moving into a care home usually means leaving a house, a garden and a great deal of independence behind, often at short notice and after something has gone wrong. We take that seriously rather than glossing over it. Rooms are arranged with people's own furniture and pictures where we can, and we give the first few weeks the attention they need, because settling in takes time and nobody should be expected to have done it by the second day. Falmouth gives us the sea, decent walks and a town worth going into, and we make use of all three when people want to. Respite guests are treated exactly as permanent residents are while they are staying with us, and a planned break can make a real difference to a family carer. If you would like to see the home, please get in touch and come and visit us at a time that suits you.
