About Us
Knot House is a residential care home in Ellesmere Port supporting adults with mental health needs and people living with a physical disability, including many younger adults. We are a household rather than an institution, and the people who live here have a real say in how the place is run.
Support of this kind works best when the house itself is calm, predictable and free of fuss. We keep our staff team as consistent as we can, we get to know people well enough to notice when something has shifted, and we work closely with local mental health services and doctors. Medication is managed carefully and reviewed properly.
Where somebody needs help to move about safely the right equipment is in place and our staff are trained for it, without fuss and without taking over.
We also take the view that nobody should be defined by a diagnosis. Residents choose how they spend the day, what they eat, whether they want company and who visits, and where somebody is working towards more independence we support that properly rather than talking about it.
Respite stays are available, which can give a family carer a break or support somebody through a difficult period. Please get in touch if you would like to see the house.
