About Us

Dover Drive in Ellesmere Port provides short stays for adults with a range of needs, including autistic adults and people with a learning disability, people managing mental ill health or an eating disorder, adults with physical disabilities, people with sight or hearing loss, younger adults and older people.

Short stays are worth doing properly. They give the person a change of scene, different company and things to do that they choose for themselves, and they give family carers a genuine rest rather than a token one.

Because people come to us for days or weeks rather than permanently, preparation matters more here than anywhere. We want to know well in advance what somebody likes and dislikes, how they communicate, what unsettles them, how much warning they need before anything changes, and how their week runs at home, so that a stay does not feel like being uprooted. We keep the staff team familiar between visits for the same reason, so that people return to faces they know rather than starting again.

While people are here they get out to what they enjoy locally, take part in running the house as much as they want to, and have their own space whenever they need it.

We work closely with families, social workers and health colleagues. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Enquiries and referrals are welcome.
