About Sidney Corob House
We are Sidney Corob House, a residential care home in Camden, London. We provide a home for older people, including those living with a mental health condition, and we also offer respite stays. Residential care means supporting people with what has become difficult and leaving everything else in their own hands. Washing and dressing, meals, medication, getting about safely, and the ordinary company that makes a day worth having. Anything beyond our registration we arrange with district nurses and GPs rather than trying to cover it ourselves. Living with a mental health condition does not stop being part of somebody's life when they move into a care home, and a good placement makes room for it. Some weeks are steadier than others. What helps is a settled environment, staff who do not take a difficult day personally, and a routine people can lean on. We work with community mental health teams and GPs so that support here and support outside are joined up. Respite guests are assessed and welcomed exactly as permanent residents are, whether they are recovering from illness or giving a family carer a break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
