About Us
We are a residential care home in Halifax, providing a home for older people and for younger adults who need support with daily life, including people living with dementia. We also offer respite stays, arranged in advance where a family carer needs a break or at shorter notice when circumstances change.
We try to run the place at the pace of the people living in it. That means people get up when they are ready, eat what they want and spend the day as they prefer, whether that is with company and something going on or quietly with a paper. Neither needs explaining to us.
Dementia asks particular things of a care home. Familiar faces, a day that does not change shape without warning, and staff who understand that behaviour which looks difficult is usually a person trying to say something they can no longer put into words. That understanding comes from knowing somebody well, which is why we care so much about keeping our team together.
Supporting younger adults alongside older residents takes thought, and we plan carefully so that everybody living here has what they need rather than a compromise.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families are welcome and we would always rather you came and saw the place for yourself. Please contact us and we will find a time for you to look round and meet some of the people who live here.
