About Oakmead
Oakmead is a residential care home in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, providing a home and short stays for adults who need support with daily living. The people who live here have a wide range of needs. Some are older adults who need help with personal care, mobility and medication. Many are living with dementia, and for them we keep the day calm, familiar and unhurried, and we take the trouble to learn about a person's life so that staff can be genuine company. We also support adults who have a learning disability or who are autistic, people living with a physical disability, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults. We adapt how we communicate and how the building is used so that everyone can take part in what is happening. Respite stays are available too, giving family carers a planned break while their relative stays somewhere welcoming and well staffed. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. That reflects the ordinary, consistent work our team does day after day rather than anything unusual, which is how we would want it. Choosing a care home is rarely easy and is often decided in a hurry. We would rather you took your time over it. Please ring us, come and see Oakmead, meet the staff and the people living here, and ask us whatever you want to know.
