About Us

Here at Parkview Care Home, we are based in Hove, Brighton and Hove, and we provide residential care for adults who need day to day support in a settled, homely environment. Our specialisms include mental health support, care for younger adults, and respite care, meaning we welcome people at different stages of life and with quite varied needs.

We understand that choosing a care home is one of the biggest decisions a person or their family will ever make, and we do not take that lightly. We aim to create an atmosphere where residents feel genuinely at home rather than simply accommodated. That means taking the time to understand each person individually, what matters to them, how they prefer to spend their time, and what kind of support actually helps them feel more like themselves.

Mental health sits at the heart of much of what we do here. Supporting younger adults alongside older residents means our team works across a broad range of needs, and we put real thought into making sure each person receives care that is right for them specifically rather than a one size fits all approach.

We also offer respite care for those who need a short term stay, whether to recover after a period in hospital or to give family carers a necessary and well earned break. We try to make those shorter stays feel just as settled and personal as longer term placements.

We are honest about where we are as a service. Our most recent CQC rating is requires improvement, and we are actively working through the feedback we received. We believe in being straightforward with people about that, while also being clear that improving our care is something we are genuinely committed to and working on every day.

More about the care at Parkview Care Home

What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.

Mental Health

Recovery and stability depend less on specialist language than on a calm house, predictable days and staff who treat people as adults. Parkview Care Home is registered to support adults with mental health conditions. Ask about staff training and supervision, how the home works with community mental health teams, and what the plan is when someone becomes unwell.

Younger Adults

Residents under sixty five often have years of life to organise rather than a quiet retirement to enjoy. Parkview Care Home is registered to support younger adults, so ask who else of a similar age lives there and how they spend the week. Ask too about education, work, coming and going, and having visitors in private.

Respite Care

Short stays are easier to arrange when the paperwork is ready, meaning a medication list, a summary of needs and clear dates. Parkview Care Home is registered for respite, and a minimum of one or two weeks is usual. Send everyday clothes, toiletries and dispensed medicines, and use the stay to work out whether the home would suit on a permanent basis.

Residential Care

Support with everyday life, not medical treatment, is what a residential registration permits. Parkview Care Home in Hove is registered for residential care along with mental health support for adults. In practice that covers meals, laundry, help with bathing and dressing, prompting of medicines and company through the day, while GPs and community teams handle health needs. The Care Quality Commission rated the home requires improvement after an inspection in July 2023, so ask what the report identified and what has been done. Brighton and Hove usually pays about £800 to £950 a week for a funded place, where private fees in the South East run from £1100 to £1450. Ask what the weekly charge includes and whether a third party contribution would be sought.
