About Medway House
Medway House is a residential care home in Wembley for adults living with mental health conditions. Most of the people we support are younger adults, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. We run the house as a household. People have their own room and their own routine, they have a real say in the meals and how the place works, and they come and go as agreed. Staff are here to make things possible rather than to take over, and we support people to do as much for themselves as they can manage, whether that is cooking, laundry, managing money or keeping appointments. Mental health does not follow a straight line, and what helps most is stability, being treated as an adult and having people around who notice early when things are becoming harder. We pay attention to those early signs, we ask people what has helped them in the past, and we work with community mental health teams so that support can be stepped up before a situation becomes a crisis. We work with social workers, community teams, families and advocates across Brent, and we involve people in decisions about their own lives rather than making those decisions for them. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking for a placement in Wembley, or would like to talk through respite, please contact us and arrange to come and see the house.
