About Franklyn Lodge
Franklyn Lodge is a residential care home in Wembley supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, including younger adults. We also offer respite stays. This is somebody's home before it is anything else. People choose how their rooms look, what they eat, when they get up and how much of the day they spend with others. Those choices are not an extra laid on top of the support. They are most of what makes a place worth living in. Support is planned around what each person wants to be able to do rather than only around risk. Cooking, shopping, managing money, using transport, getting to college, work or activities, and keeping up with family and friends. Where somebody needs a great deal of help, we still look hard for the parts they can take on themselves, because independence slips away quietly unless it is protected. Communication and environment get careful attention. We learn how each person tells us what they want, including those who use little or no speech, and we adapt to them. Noise, lighting, predictability and having somewhere quiet to retreat to all shape how good a day somebody has. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather be upfront about that than leave you to find it elsewhere. We know the areas that were raised, work is under way, and we are happy to go through any of it. Please visit and ask us directly what has changed.
